HSE Advisor - Kimberley, WA

Piacentini & Son is a Mining and Earthmoving Contractor specialising in bulk earthworks, rehabilitation services, dry hire equipment, sales, heavy haulage transportation, mining and earthmoving services.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and competent HSE Advisor for a new Project commencing in the Kimberley region in Western Australia. The role will be FIFO from Perth on an attractive 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off roster.  

Reporting directly to the Project Manager, with active support from the Group HSE Manager, the HSE Advisor will provide initial support to the start-up of the project involving the development of management plans and relevant processes.  On project commencement, the HSE Advisor will provide advice, practical expertise and solutions to site based personnel and contractors involved with the project on all HSE matters, risk management and injury management. The role requires a visible and hands-on approach to safety.

RESPONSIBILITIES WILL BE INCLUSIVE OF, BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Implementation of Piacentini & Son's HSE Systems, Policies and Procedures
• Delivery of internal and external Health, Safety and Environment training
• Lead ICAM investigations
• Foster a proactive approach to HSE matters on site
• Auditing of internal safety performance and documentation to ensure compliance
• First aid, injury management and return to work for injured employees
• Completion of Fitness for Work testing
• Report to key stakeholders internally and externally and provide strategies for areas of improvement in performance

REQUIRED SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

• OHS related qualifications
• 5 or more years’ experience in a similar role
• Professional communication both written and verbal.
• Background in mining, resources or earthmoving operations would be seen as advantageous
• Current Occupational First Aid Qualification desirable.
• Injury management experience or qualification.
• ICAM trained
